Cathy Temple, also known as Mrs. Temple, is a guest in the first season of Abbott Elementary. She is a former volunteer art teacher at Abbott Elementary. She was replaced by Sahar. The teachers and staff of Abbott were throwing a farewell party for Mrs. Temple on her last day as volunteer art teacher. She gave her thanks to Melissa and Barbara. However, the two did not remember her name. It was not until Janine came out with a surprise cake for her and called her by her name that they found out what it was. Ironically, she did not remember Janine's name and asked the other teachers who she was. She was replaced by Sahar shortly thereafter. Janine gave her a cake in the shape of Bermuda shorts because her favorite vacation spot is Bermuda. |
Ms. Davis

Ms. Davis is a minor character in Abbott Elementary. She is a volunteer music teacher at Abbott. When Janine's class had not yet returned to her classroom, she went to Ms. Davis' room to pick them up. Janine was chewing gum, so Ms. Davis told her to put the gum in Wanda, the Waste Basket. She asked her students to come back to her classroom, but her kids were having so much fun that they did not budge. It was not until Janine "threatened" to collect the recorders did the students stop playing their instruments. |

Wendell

Antoine is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. He is a student of Gregory Eddie. Antoine had to go to the bathroom. Gregory had just started subbing for Tina Schwartz, so he brought the student to the bathroom. On the way, Antoine accidentally went on himself. Gregory tried to flush the toilet, but water shot back up in the air which drenched him and the boy. Janine offered to help with Antoine as she had extra pants in her classroom. She took Antoine from Gregory to get the former changed. As they were leaving the bathroom, Janine reassured him that everything was okay because everybody pees. |

Bria is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. She is a student of Janine Teagues. Janine was showing a film to the class when Bria vomited. Her classmates reacted to this which caught Janine's attention while she was drafting her e-mail to request for a new rug. Janine took her to the bathroom to clean her up. There they met Gregory Eddie who was also there to clean up a student. Janine decided to help Gregory with his student since she had extra pants in her classroom. She left Bria under Gregory's care as she left. Bria tells Gregory that she threw up. |
Brianna

Brianna is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. She is one of the students in Abbott Elementary who was suspected to have participated in the online trend, "desking." When Abbott teachers found out that their students have been desking, they enlisted the help of Zach to identify the shoes left on the desks. After Zach identified the shoes, Gregory remembered seeing only two students wearing the same shoes, Brianna being one of them. Brianna, along with the other student, was brought to the principal's office for questioning. She was interrogated by Jacob and Janine in Janine's classroom. However, she refused to talk so they released her. Before going back to her class, she told the teachers that desking was bigger than they could imagine. |

Brittany is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. She is a student of Janine Teagues. In one of their class activities, Janine asked her class to write about their favorite movie and movie characters. Brittany wrote that her favorite movie was American Gangster and that her favorite character was Frank Lucas. Janine became concerned with this answer and decided that she would be having a talk with Brittany's mother for a third time. |
Chad

Chad is a minor character in Abbott Elementary. He is a student at Abbott who tried to forge his mother's signature. He also dressed up as Mr. Johnson during Halloween. When Abbott Elementary went on a field trip to the zoo, Chad tried to forge his mother's signature so he could go. Unfortunately, Ava saw that he signed his permission slip as "Chad's Mom," so he got sent to Mr. Johnson who was to watch all the students who were not permitted to go to the zoo. He stayed at school, where he and the other students spent their time in the library. When they got bored from doing nothing, Mr. Johnson told them to write an essay about heroes. He submitted an essay about how the teachers at Abbott were their real heroes. |

Desiree is a minor character in the second season of Abbott Elementary. She is a student of Melissa Schemmenti. Melissa had just started teaching two classes due to the charter school taking the students who had high test scores. Melissa was barely managing to control her class. She sat the third graders on one side who were answering a worksheet, and the second graders on the other side who were learning about how to read time. Desiree told Melissa that a boy had tied his shoelaces to the desk. In the middle of the classroom disorder, Desiree stood up to leave to go to the library. Melissa stopped her and asked where she was going. She answered that third graders were allowed to go to the library by themselves. However, Melissa pointed out that she was still in second grade, but Desiree responded that that only depended on where you sat in class. |
Dominique

Dominique is a minor character in Abbott Elementary. She is part of the Abbott Steppers, a step class taught jointly by Janine Teagues and Ava Coleman. When Janine formed the after-school step class, Dominique joined in together with other students. When Dominique and the other steppers were practicing the routine Janine had taught them, Ava stopped the music and asked that someone put on some good music. Dominique suggested to put on a Cardi B song which Ava approved. On the day when the Abbott Steppers were going to perform in front of the school, Dominique informed Janine that Ava left and that Janine would have to lead them despite the fact that she barely knew the routine. In "Festival," she is credited as Step Student #1. |

Jordan is a minor character in Abbott Elementary. He is a student of Gregory Eddie. Gregory Eddie was worried that his class was falling behind on Math and the State assessments were coming up. He decided to forego recess for additional Math lessons. While asking word problems to his students, Jordan would ask seemingly irrelevant questions rather than answer the problems being asked. Barbara helped Gregory realize that those questions actually showed critical thinking and answering the questions helped students focus. After this, Jordan continued to ask these questions, only this time, Gregory no longer brushed them off and answered them in earnest. |
Kenny

Kenny is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. He is a student of Gregory Eddie. When Gregory was doing a headcount of his students before they went to the school field trip to the zoo, he found that he was one kid short. Luckily, Mr. Johnson found Kenny hiding inside a trash bag. Mr. Johnson returned him to Gregory and they boarded the bus. Janine noticed this and asked if Kenny was okay. Gregory answered that he was just nervous about going into the second grade. Since Janine was probably going to be Kenny's teacher the following year, she suggested that Kenny be part of her group just to get him a head start. |
Lana

Lana is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. She is a student of Barbara Howard." During Abbott's field trip to the zoo, Lana was seated next to Barbara. The girl behind her had tried to bite her, so Lana got angry and said not to bite her with her fake Gucci jacket. |
Malcolm

Malcolm is a minor character in Abbott Elementary. He transferred to Abbott from Elway Academy where he was part of the gifted program. This inspires Janine Teagues to establish a gifted program at Abbott. Malcolm transferred to Abbott because his parents wanted him to be around other Black kids. Ava introduced him to the other teachers as a bright and talented student, being part of his former school's gifted program. After the introduction, Janine asked Malcolm if he'd like to eat breakfast with the other kids. As Malcolm was leaving, he picks up some trash, which made Mr. Johnson declare him to be brilliant. Malcolm does not appear in the final cut of "Teacher Appreciation" even though he is credited. He also appeared in the promotional pictures that the show released for the episode. |

Since Marie finished her work early, Janine asked her to sharpen some colored pencils. And when Marie finished doing that, Janine asked her to grade her classmates' worksheets. |

Melina is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. She is a student of Melissa Schemmenti. Janine saw her walking timidly in the school's hallway, looking up at the lights. Janine asked what was wrong and Melina told her that she didn't want to walk down the hallway because it was scary. It made her not want to go to school. The hallway lights were flickering and had been going on and off for weeks. When Mr. Johnson told Janine that fixing the lights was above his pay grade, Janine assured Melina that she was going to do something about the lights. In the teachers' lounge, Janine informed Melissa how Melina was afraid to come to school that morning. |

After Janine saw her class feeling left out because of the gifted program, she decided to hatch some chicken eggs in her classroom. Ronald noticed one of the eggs breaking so he called out to Janine. As Janine was explaining the process of hatching, he noticed that they were scaley, which confused Janine. The eggs turned out to be snake eggs which caused a frenzy in Janine's class. |

She asked the teachers to say something they didn't like about Janine. When the teachers refused to participate, Ava called on Sheena. Janine protested it was lunch break and Sheena was hungry. Ava asked Sheena to say what she wished was different about Janine. Sheena did not answer. Janine apologizes for disrespecting Ava and she also apologized to Sheena for missing lunch. Janine tried to give Sheena her pizza, but the student declined the offer. |

However, Sydnee didn't like potatoes, so she wasn't solving the problem that was presented. Janine told her that if she hated potatoes, then she should try and pretend that they're sweet potatoes. Unfortunately, Sydnee REALLY didn't like sweet potatoes so she the word problem was left unsolved. |

During Abbott's Development Week, Janine booked Gritty to come to Abbott's first day of school. Unfortunately, she mistook the date to be a week earlier and Gritty arrived during Development Week instead. |
Harold

Harold is a guest character in Abbott Elementary. He is one of the three Story Samurai who performed at Abbott Elementary. When Story Samurai, a storytelling group, visited Abbott Elementary, Harold was one of the three who performed in the school. During their first performance when a student suggested that the subject of their improv would be Meek Mill, Harold continued the improv to say that he was a meerkat strolling through Western Phillym, but that it wouldn't be a story without a conflict. The school's annual open house was the only chance for Janine to talk to Monica and the latter promised that she would be there. All throughout the day, Janine was trying to contact her to confirm the meeting, however, all her calls and emails were unanswered.

Shiela is a minor character in the first season of Abbott Elementary. She is a zoo docent at the Philadelphia Zoo. When Barbara and her students were at the zoo, they visited Barbara's favorite animal, Duster the tuatara. She informed Barbara that Duster was no longer at the zoo and had been moved to a reserve. She adds that when the stimulation at the zoo gets to be too much for the animals, they are retired. This caused Barbara to become upset because according to her, Duster was an institution at the zoo. |

Vinny "The Tire Iron" Romano or Vinny is a guest in the first season of Abbott Elementary. He is Melissa Schemmenti's cousin who was invited to speak in Jacob's class. When Melissa overheard Jacob's lesson on unions in Philadelphia and how many of them started in South Philly, she confronted, telling him it was garbage because it was not how it happened. This led to Melissa suggesting that she bring in a captain from back in the day so he could come to Jacob's class and do an eyewitness account for the students.

Wallace is a guest in the first season of Abbott Elementary. He is a tech teacher sent by the district to help teachers use a new learning technology that helps students with their reading. Barbara assumed that the new tech teacher would be a younger fellow but was surprised to see Wallace who is a much older gentleman. He instructed and helped the teachers understand how to use the new app they would be using. At some point during Wallace's instruction, he answered Melissa's queries regarding the analytics annex. He answered her using some tech jargon causing more confusion to the more senior teachers. |
